What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an exercise similar to yoga and tai chi. It has been practiced in China for more than 4,000 years.
  • "Qi" means vital life force or energy
  • "Gong" means form

Qigong is designed to build energy in the body and foster relaxation. This happens through slow and graceful movement, deep abdominal breathing, and meditation that quiets the mind.

However, this low-impact exercise has the capacity to circulate the same amount of blood and oxygen throughout your body as if you just completed a high-impact cardiovascular workout.

The combination of movement, breathing, and mental focus circulates a tremendous amount of blood and oxygen throughout the body — the vital life forces that build energy and heal the body naturally.
